§ 48. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Prime Minister what analyses have been made, and with what results, to ascertain the degree of radioactive fall-out in the seas around Great Britain during each of the last five years; if he will give figures showing the respective degrees of radioactive fall-out present during each of the last five years at different parts of Great Britain's coasts; and how that fall-out affects sea bathers, and fish caught, in British waters.
§ The Prime MinisterI am advised that the amount of radioactivity in the seas around Great Britain from fall-out is so insignificant as to be difficult to detect. It represents no hazard to health either through sea-bathing or through the consumption of fish caught in British waters.
