asked the Prime Minister on what date he received the correspondence addressed to him from the Tyneside Chamber of Commerce; on what date he sent his reply; and if he will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

On 23rd April, I received a letter from the Secretary of the Tyneside Chamber of Commerce forwarding a resolution which expressed the view that the two replacements of the Queen liners should not be built on the same river, and that all firms competent to undertake these orders should have equal consideration in their allocation. A reply was sent an 24th April informing the Secretary that the terms of the resolution had been noted.
