asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has given consideration to the effects of the construction of the Forth Road Bridge on opportunities for industry and employment in Fife; and if he will make a. statement on the publicity arrangernents he has made for giving information about these opportunities to firms both in the United Kingdom and abroad.

The primary object of the Scottish road programme is the improvement of the main traffic arteries in the interests of industry and employment. I believe that the construction of the Forth Road Bridge and the benefits for industrial traffic that will flow from it have received widespread publicity.
