HC Deb 17 December 1959 vol 615 cc224-5W
Lieut. -Colonel Bromley-Davenport

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will call the attention of the Danish Government to the risk of endangering good AngloDanish relations if, as a result of excessive imports of Danish bacon into Great Britain, the British bacon industry is damaged; and whether he will arrange for discussions to take place with a view to reaching some friendly agreement with regard to this matter between exporters of Danish bacon and the producers of British bacon.

Mr. John Hare

There are already arrangements for regular exchanges of information about the bacon market both at Government level and between representatives of producers and the trade. The Danes have every interest in considering the state of the market and the advice that they receive through these exchanges.
