HC Deb 15 December 1959 vol 615 c124W
49. Mr. Osborne

asked the Prime Minister if he will consult the leaders of the Trades Union Congress with regard to the introduction of legislation for the withdrawal of all social benefits from persons engaged in wild-cat strikes who withdraw their labour without the authority of the responsible trade union leaders, to enable employers to withhold wage payments until such strikes are over, and to empower the Inland Revenue to refuse repayment of P.A.Y.E. contributions.

The Prime Minister

No. I do not think that this suggestion would lead to progress in the matter.
