HC Deb 15 December 1959 vol 615 cc124-5W
51. Mr. Popplewell

asked the Prime Minister if he will co-ordinate the welfare arrangements of the Minister of Health and Minister of Pensions and National Insurance so that a person who has a 50 per cent. war disability and a 50 per cent. disability from other causes may receive the same benefits, such as a family car instead of a powered wheelchair, to which he would be entitled if his 100 per cent. disability was entirely due to war injury.

The Prime Minister

My right hon. and learned Friend the Minister of Health, who is responsible for the provision of vehicles, is considering in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance whether more suitable vehicles than powered tricycles can be provided for badly disabled war pensioners.
