Johnsonasked the Attorney-General whether, in the light of the doubts that have been expressed to him as to the propriety of appointing members of regional hospital boards to mental health review tribunals that cover the same region, he will refer this matter to the Council on Tribunals and await its recommendations before making any such appointments.
§ The Attorney-GeneralNo; appointment to mental health review tribunals is the responsibility of my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor. The eligibility of Members of these Tribunals to consider any particular case or class of case will be subject to Rules about which my noble Friend intends to consult the Council on Tribunals.
