asked the Minister of Labour what is the latest figure of unemployed in Newcastle-under-Lyme; what percentage of the working population this represents; and how these figures compare with the numbers and proportions 12 months and two years ago, respectively.

992 at 13th April, 1959, representing 3.7 per cent. of the estimated number of employees. The corresponding figures for 14th April, 1958, were 903 and 3.4 per cent., and for 15th April, 1957, 655 and 2.5 per cent.
