HC Deb 15 April 1959 vol 603 cc77-8W
57. Mr. Delargy

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will make a statement about the case of Captain Farrow, Royal Army Service Corps, whose sentence by court-martial in Cyprus was recently quashed by order of the Army Council.

Mr. H. Fraser

Captain Farrow was tried by a general court-martial held in Cyprus in October, 1958, on a charge of fraudulently misapplying Service funds. He was convicted and sentenced to be cashiered. In March, 1959, the Army Council, on consideration of an appeal petition submitted by Captain Farrow, quashed the conviction and directed that he be relieved of the consequences of his trial. He is being posted to a unit and has received the bulk of his accrued pay and allowances.
