Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland in view of the further escapes during the last three months of prisoners from Peterhead Prison, of the steps taken in consequence by the police to find the fugitives by stopping motorists and others on the roads and of the inconvenience and insecurity caused thereby, what steps he is taking to eliminate such insecurity and inconvenience.
§ Mr. MaclayGeneral security precautions in the prison have been intensified, and a new wall which is being built will reduce the risk of escapes from work parties.
