HC Deb 02 December 1958 vol 596 c114W
108. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state the progress made in building the new Bridge of Don, Aberdeen; when it will be completed; and what arrangements he has made for the opening ceremony.

Mr. Maclay

It is expected that the bridge works will be completed before the end of the year. The carriageway on the new part of the bridge is in use now. The reconstruction of the carriageway on the old part of the bridge is well in hand, and I hope that it will be open to use in January. It will be for the Aberdeen Town Council and Aberdeen County Council to make the arrangements for an opening ceremony.
