HC Deb 02 April 1958 vol 585 c158W
Mr. Body

asked the Secretary of State for War how many acres of land are under the control of his Department in the areas of the Basildon Urban District Council and Brentwood Urban District Council, respectively; and whether he will make a statement about his Department's need for this land.

Mr. Soames

In Basildon is Vange Camp, of about 40 acres, which is used as a week-end training centre for antiaircraft units. In Brentwood, Warley Barracks, of about 120 acres, are at present used as the depot of the Essex Regiment. The future of these areas has not yet been decided.
