HC Deb 11 November 1957 vol 577 cc9-10W
Mr. P. Wells

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether his attention has been drawn to the alarming increase in the rabbit population in Kent; and if he has any proposals for dealing with the situation.

Mr. Godber

My right hon. Friend is aware that there has been an increase in the numbers of rabbits in many areas, including Kent. Where occupiers are failing to comply with their responsibility to deal with rabbits on their land, C.A.E.Cs. are taking action. My right hon. Friend is considering, in consultation with the various interests concerned, whether any further steps can be taken to assist occupiers to carry out their responsibilities.
