§ 9. Mr. Loganasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if he is aware that there is not a comprehensive book of reference on pensions and National Insurance; and, in view of the complexity of the various Acts, if he will issue a handbook similar to the old National Insurance handbook, publication of which ceased in July, 1948, and place it in the Library.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterA wide range of explanatory leaflets on all aspects of National Insurance is available in the Library of this House, as well as through my Department's local offices, and I am proposing to issue a revised edition of "Everybody's Guide to National Insurance" when the proposals now before the House become effective. I doubt2W whether a handbook similar to that published by the Health Departments prior to 1948 for the guidance of approved societies would be appropriate in the circumstances of the present comprehensive scheme of National Insurance.
