84. Mr. Philips Priceasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the attitude of the Government and people of Jordan towards this country, he will consider ending the subsidies paid annually to that Government and thereby save British taxpayers £10 million a year.
§ 98. Mr. Healeyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is Her Majesty's Government's policy concerning the recent decision of the Jordan Government to denounce its treaty with Great Britain.
§ Commander NobleHer Majesty's Government have been informed by the Jordan Government, with reference to its statement in the Jordan House of Representatives on 27th November, that it will shortly be approaching Her Majesty's Government with a request for negotiations to terminate the Anglo-Jordan Treaty in an agreed manner. Pending such an approach I should prefer to make no further statement.
