§ 56. Mr. Pageasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether, in view of the Report of the Road Research Board that better street lighting can reduce accidents at night by 30 per cent. and that surface dressing of roads can eliminate skidding accidents, he will take steps to intensify these two types of road improvement.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterIt is my policy to encourage improvements of this kind. I have the whole question of the administration of street lighting under consideration, and as regards surface dressing I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave to him on 9th February, 1955.
