§ 55. Mr. Godberasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he has considered the request of the North Hykeham Parish Council for a roundabout on the A46 road in this village; and whether he will now give instructions for this to be provided.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI have noted the request. But for reasons which have been explained to the parish council, I do not think a roundabout is the right method of dealing with traffic at this place.
§ 59. Mr. Awberyasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if, in view of the urgency of the need for the construction of a roundabout at Redcliffe Way, Bristol, which is the first of the new schemes in the five-year plan, he will give further consideration to the question of an immediate grant for this purpose.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI cannot say at present whether it will be possible this year to make a grant for this scheme. The Bristol City Council has not in fact indicated to me that they gave this scheme first priority, as the hon. Member suggests.
