§ Mr. Mackieasked the Lord Advocate to state the number of prosecutions for speeding with heavy and light motor vehicles, respectively, in Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court during the first six months of 1949, and the number also in each case, reported by the police to the Procurator Fiscal in which no proceedings were taken.
§ The Lord AdvocateThere were prosecutions for speeding in respect of seven heavy vehicles and twelve light vehicles in Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court during the period in question. All cases of heavy vehicles reported by the police for speeding were prosecuted: there was one case of a light vehicle being reported for speeding which was not prosecuted.
