HC Deb 15 November 1954 vol 533 cc11-2W
Major Sir Frank Markham

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the per capita contribution of the United Kingdom to the United Nations Children's Fund for the present year and for 1955; and what information will be laid before this House showing what contributions are made by other countries.

Lord John Hope

Her Majesty's Government's contribution to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for 1954 was £200,000, representing 0.94 pence for every man, woman and child in the United Kingdom. The same figure is proposed for 1955.

A list of contributions made by Governments to UNICEF from its inception up to the end of 1953 is published in the Fund's financial report to the General Assembly for the year 1953, which has been placed in the Library of the House.
