HC Deb 04 February 1954 vol 523 c69W
96. Mr. Osborne

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware that there is usually a delay of two to three months in receiving from the Dental Board permission for orthodontic treatment in some parts of the country, as indicated by the correspondence sent to him; what is the cause of this delay; and if he will take steps to eliminate it.

Miss Hornsby-Smith

No. My right hon. Friend understands from the Dental Estimates Board that the delay averages four to five weeks. Each orthodontic case requires consideration by one of the Board's small staff of dentists.
