§ 69. Mr. Wadeasked the Attorney-General what steps, in view of the need for safeguarding the rights and liberties of the subject, Her Majesty's Government proposes to take to reform the procedure and practice of tribunals set up by Government Departments, and to ensure that the decisions of such tribunals are pronounced in public with the reasons therefor and that parties affected by such decisions have a right of appeal to a court of law.
88W
The Attorney-GeneralThe tribunals to which the hon. Member refers were constituted under a number of Acts of Parliament which define their duties, powers, and functions. The discharge of those functions often no doubt affects individual rights, and if the hon. Member has in his mind any particular point in relation to the procedure and practice of a particular kind of tribunal I will gladly consider it. I do not however think there is any need for a general reform of procedure and practice for the purpose indicated.
