§ 5. Mr. Bowdenasked the Minister of Food the figures for bread production in the United Kingdom at the latest convenient date and for the same date in 1953, 1952 and 1951, respectively.
Dr. HillFigures for bread production are not available. For the four weeks ended on 20th February, 1954, the average amount of flour used weekly in the production of bread in the United Kingdom is estimated at 53,800 tons. The figures for the corresponding periods in 1953, 1952 and 1951 are 55,600 tons, 57,300 tons and 56,800 tons, respectively.
