HC Deb 25 November 1953 vol 521 c38W
65. Mr. Erroll

asked the Minister of Food what steps he is taking to improve the regularity of supply of those types of canned fish which at present only appear occasionally in the shops.

Major Lloyd George

The only types of canned fish which are not in reasonably good supply are salmon and crabmeat. I should like to see more regular and abundant supplies of these, but the quantities which we are able to import are determined mainly by balance of payments considerations.
