HC Deb 21 May 1953 vol 515 c156W
30. Mr. G. Roberts

asked the Minister of Education if she will review the arrangements for considering scales of remuneration to graduate teachers so that the problem of attracting qualified staff to secondary schools, particularly to teach science, may be more effectively tackled.

Miss Horsbrugh

Notice has been given to terminate on 31st March next the operation of the scales in the current Burnham Primary and Secondary Schools Report, and I have no doubt that in putting forward their recommendations for the scales to take effect after that date, the Burnham Committee will consider fully the position of graduate teachers.
