HC Deb 11 March 1953 vol 512 c118W
23. Mr. Snow

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General how many applications for telephones in Tamworth, Staffordshire, were outstanding on 1st February, 1951, 1952 and 1953; and how many telephones were installed during the 12 months prior to these three dates.

Mr. Gammans

The figures of outstanding applications were 143, 159 and 197, the number of telephones provided in the preceding 12 months being 72, 81 and 48. Applications have to be held up at present because of shortage of plant, but I hope that additional plant will be ready about the end of the year.
