HC Deb 11 February 1953 vol 511 c37W
75. Mr. Awbery

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that Mr. John Eber has been detained on St. John's Island, Singapore, for two years without any charges being preferred against him; and if he will take steps to release this man or give him an opportunity to defend himself against any charges.

Mr. Lyttelton

I have nothing to add to the replies given to the hon. Members for Croydon, East (Sir H. Williams) and Merthyr Tydvil (Mr. S. O. Davies) on 30th July and 19th November, 1952. The order under which Mr. Eber is detained is about to expire and his case will, therefore, soon be reviewed again.
