HC Deb 17 December 1953 vol 522 c98W
101. Sir W. Smithers

asked the Minister of Agriculture if, now that he has presented a Bill to deal with dispossessed farmers, he will suspend all cases of dispossession now pending until such time as the Bill becomes law.

Sir T. Dugdale

I should not be justified in suspending the exercise of the functions which Parliament has entrusted to me under Part II of the Agriculture Act, 1947, merely because a Bill has been presented to deal with matters relating to the constitution and procedure of the agricultural land tribunals.
