HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 c58W
90. Mr. E. Fletcher

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General why his Department, having accepted payment of £31 0s. 2d. from Mr. J. Cohen, 310, St. Paul's Road, Islington, in respect of a debt due from his tenant, and having promised that the three telephone lines at that address would be made available for Mr. Cohen, have failed for more than two months to connect any supply to this house or to answer his letters to the Department.

Mr. Gammans

The delay in restoring service, which had been withdrawn because the account had not been paid, was due to a misunderstanding locally. The lines have now been connected to this address for the use of the new tenant.
