HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 c64W
103. Major Anstruther-Gray

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he expects to receive a report from the expert committee examining Sir Bruce White's scheme for a road bridge over the Forth railway bridge before the new year.

117. Mr. Hamilton

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what steps he has taken, or intends to take, to speed-up the investigation into the possibility of incorporating a road bridge in the structure of the present Forth railway bridge; and when a report can be expected.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I do not expect a report before the New Year. The expert committee, however, are well aware of the urgency of their investigation, and that it is on their report that I shall decide whether to adopt Sir Bruce White's proposal or to authorise the improvement of the ferry facilities.
