HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 c64W
101. Sir R. Boothby

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he is aware that the road from Garve to Ullapool is quite inadequate to carry the heavy fish traffic during the winter months; and what steps he is taking to put it in proper condition.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Since last winter steps have been taken to improve conditions on this road by strengthening and widening embankments to reduce the danger of lorries leaving the road and to provide additional standing places for traffic during snow ploughing. Arrangements have also been made for additional snow clearing and gritting equipment to be available.
