asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give an estimate of the cost in money and manpower of separating Welsh statistics from statistics for England and Wales over the whole fixed field where they are not already separated.

I regret that I am unable to provide a precise figure of the cost in terms of manpower and money of producing separate fiscal statistics for Wales where these are not already available, without the expenditure of an unjustifiable amount of time and money.
