asked the Secretary of State for War if he will give figures showing the number of Army cadets who join up as Regulars either when they are due to do their National Service or after completing their two years' service.

The numbers of those enlisted as Regulars before they were due for National Service who have had previous Army cadet service are, in recent years: 1950, 2,870; 1951, 2,846; 1952, 5,995; and, in the first half of this year, 2,651. Similar details for enlistments during or after whole-time National Service are not specially recorded.
