Hyndasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many chambers of commerce in Northern Rhodesia have discussed with the local government the practice of serving African customers through windows; how many have recommended to their members the abandonment of this practice; and with what results.
§ Mr. LytteltonThe matter has been discussed with all nine chambers of commerce. The Associated Chambers of Commerce, to which they are affiliated, has asked its members to consider the abolition of this practice. The result has been a decrease in the number of shops where it still exists.
