HC Deb 13 March 1952 vol 497 cc149-50W
80. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what special police precautions have been taken to prevent the removal of the Stone of Destiny; and what expenditure is being incurred for this purpose.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

It would not be in the public interest to disclose the details of any arrangements the Commissioner of Police may think it desirable to make to deal with any further attempt to steal the Stone, but I may say that the precautionary steps so far taken do not involve any additional charge on the Metropolitan Police Fund.
