§ 48. Sir H. Williamsasked the Lord Privy Seal what action was taken by His Majesty's Government as a result of the publication by the United Nations of the review of international commodity problems.
§ Sir H. ShawcrossI have been asked to reply. The Report to which the hon. Member refers is that of the Interim Coordinating Committee for International Commodity Arrangements which is concerned with the administration on an interim basis of the rules of procedure laid down in Chapter VI of the Havana Charter for an International Trade Organisation. The Report is a factual study of the developments which took place in 1950 in relation to international commodity problems, but it makes no specific recommendations for action by His Majesty's Government. The facts recorded in the Report are well known to the Departments concerned and have been taken into account in the day to day work done by those Departments.
