HC Deb 10 May 1951 vol 487 cc238-9W
35. Mr. Erroll

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that firms having stands at the British Industries Fair, Olympia, have been using these facilities for the purpose of selling printing machines made in Germany and which can now be imported into this country; and what steps he is taking to ensure that the Fair shall not in future be misused in this way.

Sir H. Shawcross

No. Agreement under which space is allotted to exhibitors prohibits the display at the Fair of goods not mainly of United Kingdom origin. It has not proved possible by inquiry to establish that German printing machines have been sold at the Fair. If the hon. Member will give me more precise information, I will look into the matter further.
