HC Deb 21 March 1951 vol 485 cc282-3W
69. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Food whether, in connection with the additional 2 oz. of tea per month which is now made available to those of 70 years of age and over, the allowance could be made available for those who are 65 years of age and over, especially bearing in mind those who live alone.

Mr. Webb

I am afraid that tea supplies do not permit an increased ration for all who are 65 or over; and it would be impracticable to vary rations according to the size of the household.
