§ 31. Mr. Marplesasked the Minister of Works how many bricks he estimates will be needed to meet the requirements of the defence programme for the calendar years 1951, 1952 and 1953.
§ Mr. StokesIt is impossible to state with precision the requirements of the defence programme for bricks for three years ahead, in advance of the planning of the individual jobs. I have taken account, however, of defence needs in calling for an increase in the production of bricks to a yearly rate of 7.4 thousand million as soon as possible.
