25. Mr. Black

asked the Minister of Works on what date the new office premises in Savile Row were occupied by the Ministry of Local Government and Planning; what is the number of staff occupying the premises; when it is proposed that the building shall be vacated; and what is the estimated cost of removal.

Mr. Stokes

No. 23, Savile Row, was occupied by the Ministry of Town and Country Planning in December, 1950. The building is now occupied by 465 staff of the Ministry of Local Government and Planning and 93 staff of the Ministry of Health. It should be wholly occupied by the Ministry of Health by the summer. The cost of removing the staff of the Ministry of Local Government and Planning is estimated at£750.
