HC Deb 14 March 1951 vol 485 c161W
Captain Bullock

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that an express letter posted in London at 10 a.m. on a Saturday morning only reached a destination 60 miles from London on the Monday morning; and if he will publish the rules about the delivery of express letters to avoid the expressing of letters when they will arrive at the same time as an ordinary letter.

Mr. Hobson

If the hon. and gallant Member would let my right hon. Friend have full particulars and, if possible, the envelope of the letter to which he refers, he would be glad to have inquiry made into its treatment: the conditions governing the acceptance and treatment of express letters are published at pages 60 to 65 of the current issue of the Post Office Guide.
