Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that some hospitals do not allow parents to see their children while in-patients unless they are on the danger list or likely to stay in hospital for a long time; what is the.reason for this; and whether he will instruct all hospitals that parents should be allowed to see their children.
§ Mr. BevanIt is a problem on which opinions vary, and I have taken advice from the Central Health Services Council. I am sending my hon. Friend a copy of a memorandum on this which I sent to hospitals last September.
