HC Deb 04 December 1950 vol 482 c9W
80. Sir R. Glyn

asked the Minister of Transport if he will arrange for a complete survey to be made of the congestion of London street traffic on certain routes and at selected points at various times of the day with the object of assessing the periods of time wasted and the estimated cost of these delays in time and money, and of suggesting methods of improving these conditions.

Mr. Barnes

I understand that the Road Research Laboratory are making some investigations into the economic loss involved in traffic delays. Before considering further action, I should like to await their conclusions and the report on London traffic congestion which I am expecting to receive shortly from the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee.
