HC Deb 10 February 1948 vol 447 c42W
Mr. Paget

asked the President of the Board of Trade when the war damage claim lodged by B. W. Eele, 25, Alpha Street, Kingsthorpe, Hullow, Northampton, at the Claims Office, Seven Sisters Road, in 1941, in respect of furniture destroyed at 36, Chalfont Road, Holloway, N.7, is likely to be disposed of.

Mr. H. Wilson

The claim to which my hon. Friend refers was received in November, 1940, but it was unsigned and all efforts to trace the claimant failed until he himself wrote to the Insurance and Companies Department of the Board of Trade on 15th July, 1947. At that time the Department was, and has since been, engaged in the heavy task of paying out chattel claims and action on the claim in question was postponed. An assessor has been instructed to deal with the claim with a view to its early settlement.
