GriffithsI have no evidence of any substantial demand for such a change and there would, I am afraid, be very serious practical difficulties if such an option were introduced into the scheme. I may say, however, that great importance is attached to the increments in inducing persons to remain at work beyond pensionable age and the effect of the new scheme in this respect will be closely watched.
