HC Deb 10 February 1948 vol 447 c37W
72. Colonel Ropner

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps are being taken to make supplies of cloth available for the home market to enable the clothing industry to make up the loss of 1,000,000 yards of extra cloth with which it is to supply the Ministry of Supply for the manufacture of demobilisation suits.

Mr. Bottomley

The Wool Control have arranged that clothing manufacturers who use their own cloth in making up suits for the Ministry of Supply will be able to reorder similar material from their cloth suppliers, and the latter will give priority to the production of this replacement material.
