HC Deb 02 February 1948 vol 446 c226W
81. Mr. Hoy

asked the Minister of Works if he is aware that the acute shortage of glass, and hard wall plaster is delaying the completion of a considerable number of houses in Edinburgh; and if he will take action to expedite deliveries.

Mr. Key

Supplies of sheet glass have been increased during the past two months and I have now arranged for a further increase. A shortage of plaster in Scotland was caused by a temporary breakdown in a plaster factory in Glasgow; at my request, English manufacturers agreed to despatch additional quantities to Scotland.
