HC Deb 28 November 1947 vol 444 cc319-20W
Mr. Lever

asked the Minister of Works the amount of licences granted to the King's Arms Hotel, Christchurch, during the last two years; and the purposes for which such licences were granted.

Mr. Key

One licence was granted during this period, after consultation with the Local Authority, for an expenditure of £1,370 in respect of repairs and decorations.

Mr. Lever

asked the Minister of Works the total amount of licences granted to Ridings Stores, Ltd., in respect of premises in the North-West area; and the purposes for which, and upon whose recommendation, such licences were granted.

Mr. Key

Licences totalling £2,425 have been issued by my Ministry during the past two years to Messrs. Ridings Stores, Ltd., in respect of ten of their properties in the North-West Region. The work licensed consisted mostly of essential repairs to remove danger, to re-instate war damage, or to meet requirements of local authorities.
