HC Deb 17 November 1947 vol 444 cc147-8W
129. Mr. Erroll

asked the President of the Board of Trade why his Department, although urging the production of children's school wear has refused to grant Messrs. B. L. Wallace and Company Limited, London an extra coupon allocation in order to increase their production of this type of garment.

Mr. Belcher

The issue of additional coupons to individual manufacturers of children's school wear would not increase the total production of these garments. Manufacturers have already sufficient coupons to enable them to take up all the suitable materials available to the industry as a whole.
