HC Deb 03 November 1947 vol 443 c151W
102. Mr. Skinnard

asked the Minister of Transport what powers his regulations give local authorities to fix "Keep Left" signs at road junction roundabouts before such junctions have been scheduled by his Department; and in what manner they provide during this period for the protection of the public where the instruction on such signs was disregarded.

Mr. Callaghan

Highway authorities are authorised to erect a standard type of "Keep Left" signs at their discretion but the erection of larger signs requires special authority. My right hon. Friend is advised that to disregard a "Keep Left" sign is an offence.
