HC Deb 03 November 1947 vol 443 c151W
93. Mr. Butcher

asked the Minister of Transport whether in order to minimise hardship to the travelling public in London he will cause the present restrictions upon the number of standing passengers in omnibuses and similar vehicles to be relaxed so long as the basic petrol ration is withdrawn.

Mr. Callaghan

My right hon. Friend would like to have a longer experience of the effect of the withdrawal of the basic ration before reaching a decision.
